This tiny apartment of 37 square meters is the work of designer Andrey Agarimov. Smooth lines prevail in the interior architecture and shapes of objects in this space, and a single color scheme brings peace to the interior and at the same time makes it integral.
“The client approached the process responsibly: she prepared a presentation with references for the first meeting,” says the author of the project. “From this, the mood she wanted to create in her space became clear. The goal was to design a box-like apartment with a large number of decorative elements. The client’s special wish was the absence of a TV.”
“I consider one of the main advantages of this object to be the geometrically correct shape of all the rooms. There were also some disadvantages: for example, a load-bearing wall ran through the center of the apartment, which actually divided the space into two equal parts. As a result of the redevelopment, the bathroom and toilet were combined and the corridor at the entrance was eliminated.”
“For the finishing, only natural materials were used: ceramics, wood, glass. By painting the walls and ceiling in a complex pastel shade, we managed to achieve a soft, enveloping atmosphere, bringing coziness and a sense of privacy to the space. It was important for me to create an interior without using cold shades, but at the same time it should not look yellow.”
“The small area dictated the use of some design techniques. So, in addition to a single warm shade on all the walls and on the ceiling of the apartment, I actively used mirrors to visually expand the space. One of the walls of the living room is a row of cabinets with mirrored facades, made in the form of arches.”
“Smooth lines run through the entire space: we decided to round off the openings, moldings, and niches. Soft shapes continue in the furniture. I consider the coffee and dining tables from PLY to be the most remarkable pieces. The latter is made of a monolithic wooden structure and covered with natural-colored microconcrete.”
“I am proud that even in such a limited space I managed to implement all the customer’s wishes. In a small area, we were able to allocate space even for an office and a laundry room.”
