An apartment for a blogger in japandi style

This small apartment, decorated in the Japandi style, is located in the residential complex Match Point. Designer Lina Knyazeva, the author of the project, managed to place everything the owner needs on 53 square meters: a functional kitchen, an isolated bedroom, a large dressing room, and even a free-standing bathtub.

“I designed this apartment for a girl,” says the author of the project. “She is an environmental designer, a graduate of the Stroganovka, a hedonist and the author of a blog about slow living. She and her toy poodle needed an apartment where they could both relax and shoot content for a lifestyle blog. It was also important to provide the opportunity to add something to the interior: paintings, flowers and other decor.”

“Initially, the space was rented out “in concrete” and without partitions. The presence of three windows in a small area and the convenient, almost square shape of the apartment gave us freedom in developing the layout. The main idea was to create an interior in the Japandi style, since this style one hundred percent reflects the personality of my client. Beige and monochrome tones are diluted with different textures.”

“We used a lot of wood in the project – the customer skillfully combined all its shades without using bright contrasts. A bold and effective decision was to make a massive glass partition between the bedroom and the living room. The partition is the highlight of the project, as it is associated with panoramic windows in the apartment. The kitchen combines closed and open storage.”

“The glass column is our signature feature, allowing us to visually separate the kitchen and living room without partitions. Another signature feature was the non-standard furniture arrangement: the dining table was moved behind the sofa – otherwise it would not have been possible to place the TV area. Having lived in the apartment for some time, the customer said that it was very convenient for her to use the table, despite the fact that it was not located next to the kitchen.”

“We hid the air conditioner behind the upper kitchen facade. It is very convenient to use, although this solution causes a lot of negative comments on the Internet. They are unfounded: everything works perfectly and does not spoil the appearance of the kitchen-living room.”

“The bathroom’s area allowed for both a freestanding bathtub and a shower. Since the walls are partially covered with interior paint, the bathroom looks not like a separate room, but like a full-fledged part of the apartment. When paint is combined with porcelain stoneware, the room becomes more cozy and inviting to spend more time there.”
