Modern, technological, and feminine — this is how the owner of this bright apartment in Samara wanted to see her interior. Designer Aigul Sultanova successfully coped with the task, skillfully emphasizing the volumes of space and filling it with a complex combination of shades and textures.
The bright apartment, which belongs to a young woman, is located on the 16th floor of a residential complex. “The house is located on a hill above the Volga bank. Its main advantage is a panoramic view of the expanses of the Volga and the Samara Luka,” says the designer. “As for the disadvantages, the only thing that can be noted is that the client, despite the area, thought the apartment was quite small. When creating the interior, I tried to smooth out this impression.”
“The layout of a standard two-room apartment was changed, placing a spacious kitchen-living room, a bedroom with a walk-through wardrobe, and a guest bathroom behind a hidden door in 73 square meters. My task was not to overload the apartment, leaving as much air as possible.”
“To visually enlarge the space, I used light shades. Thus, the color of the cabinet in the hallway is matched to the color of the walls, and it practically dissolves into it. The floor is laid with engineered board, and the walls and ceilings in the rooms are painted in one shade to create a single background.”
“The bright blue sofa took center stage in the living room, and one of the walls was highlighted with the color. A veneered panel with relief appeared on the burgundy background, and the rhythm of the moldings and brass decor in the living room created visual complexity.
“In the bedroom, behind the headboard, there is a complex composition of moldings, interrupted by mirror inserts. In the bathroom, the molding frames “come out” from under the porcelain stoneware wall, continuing the play of textures. There are many mirrors in the interior, the apartment really seems larger than its actual area. The interior turned out to be not boring, full of color – everything as the customer wanted.”
