The owner wanted to relax in comfort in her apartment, spend time with her grandchildren, and pursue hobbies.
Customer and tasks
This apartment is owned by a woman. She enjoys sewing and often spends time with her grandchildren. The owner approached designer Kristina Lichik with a request for a transforming apartment. It was necessary to design a bedroom, a living room, and a full kitchen with a dining area since the owner loves to cook. "At the same time, it was necessary to combine the rooms, which would give more air to the apartment with low ceilings. It was also necessary to leave free space for games with small children and plan storage areas," explains Kristina.
Redevelopment
The internal partitions were removed. The bathroom was enlarged at the expense of the corridor. Gas was abandoned. The bedroom was separated from the living room only by a small partition and a glass partition without a door.
The bedroom is separated from the hallway by a closet.
Finishing
Paint was chosen for the wall finishing. Quartz vinyl was used on the floor , it was laid over the entire area, including the hallway and kitchen. Porcelain tiles were used in the entrance area. And in the bathroom, neutral light tiles were combined with small-format tiles as an accent in the shower and in the sink area. The ceiling was plastered and painted.
Storage systems
At the entrance, there is a narrow wardrobe and a shoe chest, as well as a bench with a soft panel mounted on the wall.
The wardrobe, which is located in the hallway, is a partition between the entrance area and the bedroom. Two sections that open into the hallway are intended for outerwear. The rest open from the bedroom side - there is space for storing everyday clothes.
Storage of bed linen is organized in a bed with a lifting mechanism.
In the living room there is a display cabinet with blind and glass fronts, where you can store documents, books, beautiful dishes, and various small items. There is also a TV stand.
The kitchen has a linear set, which is limited on the sides by columns. One has a built-in refrigerator, the other has an oven and microwave, and there is also space for storage. The lower bases next to the sink have a built-in dishwasher. To optimize storage, the upper cabinets are made up to the ceiling. And to save space on the work surface, a two-burner hob was chosen.
In the bathroom, in addition to the cabinet under the sink, there is a cabinet for the washing machine and a narrow cabinet for household storage.
Lighting
For the main lighting scenario, we chose overhead ceiling spotlights, in the living room area - two large round lamps on short cables. Additionally, in the bedroom there is a floor lamp and a table lamp, in the hallway - wall sconces, in the bathroom - a mirror with backlighting.
