Smart Zoning and Stylish Concrete Ceilings in a Modern Family Apartment

The family apartment, the owners of which asked the SIMPLE FORMS INTERIORS team to develop a stylish youth interior for them, is located in the Petrovsky Park residential complex. Its contents were conceived as light and restrained. The key wish was a comfortable recreation area with a large sofa and a compact dining group. The spouses also wanted to make the thoughtful places for storing clothes unnoticeable.

The property was rented out without partitions and finishing, so the designers took on the creation of the layout. The apartment is distinguished by a regular square shape and a compact kitchen-living room: we wanted to expand it, so we combined it with the hallway. The boundaries of the other rooms were left the same. Despite the relatively small footage, we managed to provide for storage systems that are invisible to the outside eye. The visual concept is built from large color blocks - a peach "cube" in the entrance area, a white volume behind the TV and a massive kitchen on a neutral background. Light wood with an active pattern was best suited for the furniture. The SIMPLE FORMS INTERIORS team was inspired by the style of Japandi and wabi-sabi, choosing the palette based on the clients' references. From here, an open concrete ceiling came to the project, which was treated with primer and varnish. The main dominant of the space was a sofa with expressive red upholstery. It was complemented by graphic accents in the form of a coffee table, a nightstand and lamps. The same textures of wood and concrete appear in the bedroom. A shelf with sockets and switches was provided at the head of the bed, and a work area was located to the right of the bed. The dressing room here was emphasized by peach paint. Terracotta-colored microcement and concrete-look porcelain tiles were ideal for the bathroom. The bathtub was lined with pine plywood, with shelves integrated into it for additional storage and a removable panel for access to the drain. The laundry unit with a column of washing machines and dryers is masked by wooden blinds.
