Simple interior design: asceticism, a minimum of color, furniture, and decor in an apartment of 43 m2

Designer Maria Amelina completed the project of a small apartment of 43 square meters in the West Garden residential complex. The main advantages of the original space were two large windows with a low window sill, a lot of light, and the absence of neighboring houses in front of the windows.

The client works in the film production industry. Maria Amelin had already decorated another apartment for the girl, so she already had an idea of the owner's preferences: simple interior design - asceticism, a minimum of color, furniture, and decor.

The original layout from the developer was a two-room apartment with a kitchen living room and an isolated bedroom. The designer suggested making a studio - not to fence off the sleeping area with a wall so that the entire space could be seen from the entrance. Also, we did not want to lose light from two large windows. The bedroom is separated by a low partition, which serves as the base for the TV. The hallway area is minimal, but there was room for a utility room with cabinets, a washing machine, and a dryer. There was also a fairly large bathroom with a shower cabin and a sink area with a mirror.

The laconic space is filled with subtle shades of color. Despite the apparent simplicity, all the objects here are individual - the doors, kitchen, bed, window sills, wardrobe, laundry room were made to order according to the designer's sketches. The color palette of the apartment began with the purchase of a vintage Italian Vistosi chandelier from the 1970s in bright orange. The object as a visual center charges the entire space with energy. The green-gray color in the upholstery of the chairs was chosen as a partner for orange. In dialogue with them are the orange and green squares of tiles in the shower room.

The designer also notes the solution with the dressing room. It was necessary to come up with doors that would not clutter the studio space. The sliding partition did not fit the dimensions, so Maria designed folding doors with round mesh openings. They enter into a dialogue with glass circles on the chandelier. The doors were chosen with glass transoms up to the ceiling with relief glass, which the designer often uses in his projects so that daylight penetrates everywhere.
