Seoul wants to build the world's largest Ferris wheel without spokes

The Seoul government has announced plans to build the world's largest Ferris wheel without spokes in the capital's Haneul Park. Seoul Ring is considered primarily as a new attraction for the city, so they want to place it in a busy location, close to the main tourist infrastructure. To ensure construction safety, structural integrity of the future structure, and environmentally friendly design, the project team consults with local and international experts. In addition to its entertainment purpose, Seoul Ring is intended to introduce visitors to the history of Nanjido Island: before a large-scale eco-park appeared here, its territory was occupied by a huge landfill. Construction of the wheel is planned to be completed in 2025.
