Aquant's Sorbet Showroom

A showroom for the Aquant brand in Mumbai challenges traditional notions of plumbing stores. The space, named Sorbet after the dessert of the same name, was designed by Indian design bureau MuseLAB. The color scheme reminds visitors of the freshness of lime and the tartness of wild berries, while unexpected architectural solutions - massive forms and multi-layered structures - create an immersive effect. A delicate mint green shade covers the walls, floor, and ceiling, combined with mosaics, terrazzo, and rich burgundy accents.

The architects have preserved the original 4-meter ceiling height in the space, which was previously used as a carpet studio. The arched entrance is hidden under a translucent canopy, plum-colored foliage planters frame the shaded area and a chaotic stone floor guides visitors inside.

In the 241 square meter Aquant's Sorbet Showroom, MuseLAB has created a rhythmic sequence of zones. Instead of static shelves, intersecting circular spaces dominate, where different categories of goods are presented. Each display case, decorated in rich colors, repeats the geometry of the room and allows you to take in the showroom in its entirety from any point. Playful elements - cloche-style podiums, curved modules and round platforms - add dynamics to the space.

The flooring alternates between smooth and broken patterns. Pendant lights hover above the ceiling, highlighting the scarlet counters and ventilation systems that were intentionally left exposed. The store also features an eight-seat conference room, guest and employee restrooms, a staff area with a pantry, storage, and a pair of desks. According to the architects, the plumbing in this space becomes an art object, and the architecture is the language that speaks about this art.
