Minimalist White Interiors Meet Playful Colors in Vibrant Kids' Rooms

Minimalist White Interiors

A young couple with two daughters knew exactly what they expected from the interior of their new home. The spouses came to Anastasia Kholoptseva with the idea of a minimalist white interior design that would become a universal background for the lives of all family members. The owner of the apartment works as a clothing stylist, so her taste and healthy pragmatism often became decisive in decision-making.

Since the developer rented out an apartment with a free layout, the designer created the zoning from scratch. She preserved the original wet spots and tried to fit all the customer's wishes into eighty-five square meters. There were many of them, so compromises had to be made in some places. For example, the husband's workstation for remote work was located in the bedroom - there is no one there during the day, and the size of the room allowed for a desk and shelves. Anastasia Kholoptseva camouflaged the passage to the dressing room with a hidden door. It is located in the kitchen area with two side columns. A refrigerator is installed in one of them, and in the second there is a door to a "secret room" that is invisible to outsiders. After moving into the house, the couple even had a new pastime: they invite guests to look for a storage system. The future design is based on a neutral white shade. It creates a soft contrast of cold and warm undertones in the decoration and textured upholstery of the furniture. Black lamps and decorative items added expressiveness to the light palette. To soften it, the designer turned to smooth lines, arches and organic curves of objects. The parents approached the filling of the children's rooms responsibly, so both girls told the designer in detail about their preferences. It turned out that the eldest daughter wanted to see foxes in the room: this is how the ironic painting on the wall appeared in the project. The youngest asked to include her favorite polka dot pattern and pink colors here. As a result, wallpaper with white specks determined the mood of the bedroom. The parents' bedroom was decorated with a panel "Maidens and Apples", made according to a sketch by Antonina Garas'ko.
