The transformation of this three-room apartment with an outdated renovation and irrational layout became an interesting task for Marina Berzina. The clients - a young couple with a daughter - approached the designer with a request for a modern style with natural materials and active use of warm wood tones. The severity of the updated interior was enlivened by the rounded shapes of the arch, pendant lamps, and ceramics.

Thanks to a small redevelopment, the project team dismantled all the diagonal partitions that complicated the geometry of the rooms. The original layout of the object was a crazy experiment from the 90s, so there was not a single right angle. Only the arched opening reminds of the previous interior, which harmoniously fit into the new realities and was given a second life. The composition of the rooms remained unchanged: from the hallway, you can get to the kitchen-living room, bedroom, and children's room, but there was also free space for an additional dressing room. The potential of the space inspired Marina Berzina to create a light design, in which the high ceilings and windows become even more noticeable. The center of attraction of the entire house is a combined public area with a large gray sofa near the TV. The storage problem in the apartment is solved by a spacious closet, combining open and closed sections. The warm wood on their facades echoes the design of the kitchen set. It is placed in a niche, so it turned out to be quite compact — the modest footage was leveled by the doors painted to match the walls. All cabinet furniture was made to order according to the team's requests. Natural design motifs merged into a common eco-style with references to natural materials. Since the designer had similar tastes to the client, work on the project was easy — all ideas were agreed upon with virtually no amendments.
