Eclectic Design in a Spacious Apartment by the River – A Blend of Styles and Elegance

Eclectic Design

Anna Zueva created the Eclectic Design in the elegant interior of this apartment in the historical center for her client's regular visits to the city. At first, she was invited only to remotely develop a layout solution, but then the man offered further cooperation. The owners of the house visit the city during vacations or business trips, so their main request was a combination of coziness and comfort of a luxury hotel. However, their most unusual wish was to bring more books to the project. This is how collections of albums about the architecture of the cultural capital, and classical and foreign literature appeared here.

The apartment purchased in the clubhouse was not the client's main residence, but the project team still approached the development of the layout solution responsibly. Initially, the functional zones were distributed incorrectly, so Anna Zueva adjusted the layout of the stations and carried out a global redevelopment. Now the apartment is clearly divided into the front and private halves. First, guests enter the hall - an elegant square room from where you can go to the kitchen-living room or to the sleeping block. The volume dividing the entire space includes bathrooms and a dressing room located on the same axis. Dark and rich colors were used in the design. They are expressed by the ceilings and parts of the walls painted white. The designer also chose contrasting materials: a mix of rough and smooth, velvety and silky textures complicates the laconic base. Thus, "cool" stone and "warm" wood of different types meet here. In the bedrooms, the color scheme turned out to be softer: textiles play the main role in them. The headboard of the master bed is upholstered in wine-colored velvet, and the floor of the room is decorated with a wool and silk carpet. The playful polka-dot curtains and cozy armchairs were ideal for the children's room. The team bought art and decor based on the design project, and decorator Natalia Onufreychuk added a lithograph "Horseman", a stained glass work from the 50s and sculptures by Natalia Vyatkina. The clients' greatest love in this interior is the bathrooms with rare marble, stucco ornaments, and furniture in the Art Deco style.
