Maarten De Ceulaer “The Cairn Lights” series is inspired by the ancient practice of stacking stones to create pyramids – ancient wayfinders and spiritual symbols. For each lamp, Maarten de Ceulaire carefully selected the boulders, paying particular attention to their shape, color, and texture. The result is a perfect balance between the two stones – the base and the lampshade. The organic silhouettes and natural patterns on the surface are intended to create a sense of grounding and calm, connecting the user to the natural world and celebrating its pristine beauty. The stones conceal a light source within, enhancing their texture with a warm, soft glow. As Maarten De Ceulaer comments, the series reflects the interaction between man and nature, reimagining ancient structures as contemporary light objects and offering a fresh interpretation of them in contemporary living spaces.
