Christy Bender and Wendy Schwartz of California-based Cuff Studio have unveiled a furniture collection called WITHIN. According to the studio’s founders, it is the embodiment of their “journey, instincts, and trust in the design process.” The new series includes 12 pieces, from tables, chairs, and couches to lamps and decorative objects. In their creation, the designers combined references to historical styles with innovative materials — from molten hand-blown glass and patinated metals to rope tie and vegan parchment — balancing heritage with modern technology, and a play on texture and form. “We’ve turned to history, craftsmanship, and materiality more than ever before to create a collection that feels grounded and exciting ,” the duo says. According to the team’s idea, the pieces will complement classic and contemporary interiors equally effectively. The rich palette of plum, lemon and green shades looks fresh and expressive, yet timeless.
